The S494CLsensor is an amperometric probe with three electrodes covered by membrane with temperature sensor incorporated for the compensation of the signal, for the measurement of inorganic free residual chlorine.The electrolytic solution is an aqueous solution containing potassium chloride, and the life time of the latter is approximately of a year.
The measuring electrodes, the cathode and the anode, are respectively gold and silver, while the reference electrode it is also silver, or alternatively halogenated silver.
To the measuring, any surfactants present in the liquid are partially tolerated.
