In the KPS thermostats series, special attention has to meet the strict requirements of a high level of protection, a robust and compact construction and resistance to shock and vibration.

The range of KPS thermostats covers most of the requirements for use in internal and external environment and is suitable for use in monitoring, alarm and control in factories, diesel plant, compressors, power stations and on board ships.

Selection of the differential

Suitable differential is needed to operate the plant correctly.
A differential too small, in fact, gives rise to short runs and swings.
A differential too high causes strong vibrations of temperature.

Differential

The Mechanical differential is the differential set by the spindle in the thermostat.
The Differential Thermal (operating differential) is the differential with which the system works.
The thermal differential is always greater than the mechanical differential and depends on three factors:
1) flow velocity in the middle
2) index of change of temperature of the medium
3) transmission of heat to the sensor
