Riels RTDIFF differential pressure switches are equipped with a single-pole switch whose contact position depends on the pressure present on the relative connection and on the set value.
The RTDIFF differential pressure switch is equipped with a single-pole switching contact which opens or closes a circuit according to the pressure difference between two opposing bellows (LP and HP).
Differential pressure switches are mainly used as protection against too low pressure differences in circulation pumps.
A secondary application is the maintenance of the lubrication oil pressure in a refrigeration compressor.
The operation of the pressure switch is influenced only by the differential pressure, that is, the pressure difference that is established between the two opposing bellows, while it is independent of the absolute pressure inside them.
