The F3.05.XX vane flow switch is designed to protect a pump from running dry or operating against a closed valve. This device has a mechanical SPST (No Flow = Open Contact) contact that is activated when the flow velocity falls below the factory preset value, i.e., 0.15 m/s (0.5 ft/s). Its specially designed family of fittings ensures quick and easy installation on all pipe sizes from DN15 to DN600 (0.5 to 24 in.).
The flow switch consists of a transducer and a five-blade open-cell paddle. The paddle itself has a permanent magnet embedded in each blade. When the magnet passes near the transducer, an output pulse is generated. This pulse is monitored by a missing signal circuit, which activates an internal relay.
