FMR-DUAL
The aluminum bodies of the FMR-Dual series undergo a special treatment that gives them greater strength without compromising their signature lightness.
Turbine meters have a limited operating range and require careful calibration in close proximity to operating conditions, especially when dealing with high-pressure natural gas. This limitation and the additional costs due to calibration make them less attractive than the larger FMR-Dual series rotary meters, which are an increasingly popular solution as an alternative to turbine meters.
The FMR-Dual series has overcome the challenges of conventional rotary meters, such as pulsation and resonance, with its innovative pulsation-free design. These gauges adopt a configuration with two pairs of impellers offset by 180 degrees each, which enables them to completely cancel out pulsations by counteracting the characteristic sinusoidal pattern and related resonances. The result is extraordinarily remarkable: the pulsation-free rotary gauges of the FMR-Dual series are exceptionally quiet and incredibly accurate.
An additional advantage of this series is the choice to use relatively short impellers. These more compact impellers maintain their integrity over time, ensuring reliable long-term performance. Care must be taken, however, at the connection point of the two pairs of impellers in pulsation-free meters, as this mechanical junction is particularly sensitive to load differences between the two sets of impellers. To address this challenge, the FMR-Dual quantometer employs a significantly stronger edge and edge shaft to safely connect the two pairs of impellers, ensuring reliable performance over time.
