Turbine flow meter for gas and water

The turbine flow meters are composed of a very light impeller, consisting of a propeller or a reel, which detects the speed of a fluid current and transforms it into a rotary motion, whose speed is a function of the flowing flow.

Turbine flow meters are suitable for industrial measurements of gas and liquids and are applied in a turbulent regime (Re> 10000), they are not suitable for high viscosity fluids as the impeller is subject to deterioration and requires filtering of the fluid to prevent suspended solids in the fluid from damaging the instrument. An example of application are the water meter for concrete mixer.

The turbine flow meter is suitable for gases such as methane, nitrogen, air, hydrogen, etc., and fluids such as water and neutral fluids.
