Volumetric Flow Meters

Litre counters are volumetric flow meters that measure the flow rate based on geometric volumes generated and counted by the measuring device.
Volumetric flowmeters consist of a moving element, which may be a disc, a piston or a pair of gears, that under the thrust of the liquid sets a drive shaft in motion, which transfers the movement of the moving element to the outside of the body where it is collected by a counting device.

What are volumetric flow meters used for?

They are meters that detect the flow rate based on geometric volumes generated and counted by the measuring device. They are made up of a moving element with a disc, piston, gear, etc., which, under the thrust of the fluid passing through them, assumes a rotary or translational motion that rotates a transmission shaft which, through sufficient sealing, transmits the movement of the external moving element of the measuring body, where it is collected by a mechanical or electronic counting device.

What are the limits of use of a volumetric flowmeter?

The fluid, liquid or gas must be free of impurities. It must operate under conditions of small variations in fluid pressure and temperature and at initial calibration or calibration (with the same fluid and viscosity)
