The RIF940 is acoustic point flow meter designed for measuring flow open channels and pipelines. This instrument uses ultrasonic sensing technology, ensuring high accuracy and stability measurement with minimal influence from environmental factors. Its rugged construction, combining industrial stainless steel and plastic material, makes it waterproof, anti-corrosive and durable, with a sensor life of more than 5 years.

The operating principle of RIF940 is based on the Doppler effect, establishing a relationship between the difference in transmission and reception frequency and flow velocity, and between the difference in ultrasonic transmission and reception time and liquid level. The device is also capable of measuring static pressure and ambient temperature for correction of the effective speed of ultrasound propagation.

In terms of installation, the RIF940 offers flexibility with recessed or wall-mounted options, and includes a number of precautions to ensure installer safety and sensor protection. In addition, it is important to consider the length of the upstream and downstream straight channel to ensure smooth and turbulence-free flow.

The RIF940 features an intuitive user interface with an English operating menu, operated via an 18-key keypad. It offers analog and digital outputs, including an isolated 4...20mA current output and an RS485 communication interface, also isolated, as well as alarm functions for upper and lower limits.
